Porcine By-Products Initiative

Based on concerns raised by producers at all four 2026 Semi-Annual Meetings, and following consultation with industry veterinarians, provincial pork organizations, the Canadian Pork Council, and processors, the Alberta Pork Board of Directors is seeking feedback from Canadian Pork Excellence (CPE) Certified producers in Alberta in regards to the potential inclusion of a porcine by-product feed restriction within the CPE program.

All responses will be aggregated and reviewed by the Board of Directors at its meeting on August 12, 2026. The Board’s decision will be communicated to you through the Alberta Pork weekly newsletter, letter to CPE certified producers, and at key industry events.
