What do you need to know about Growing Forward 2?
With program availability constantly changing, the best way to remain current and keep in the know is to check the Growing Forward 2 website regularly at http://www.growingforward.alberta.ca/ or sign up to receive regular updates from Growing Forward 2 here: http://www.growingforward.alberta.ca/Subscribe/index.htm
When you subscribe this means that anytime a program opens or closes, Growing Forward will send you an email immediately to let you know of the status of that particular program. Alternatively you can contact 310-FARM (3276) for current information regarding the status of an individual program if you do not have frequent access to the internet.
When programs open, funding is often very limited. Working with Alberta Pork and keeping in touch with us so that your application is ready to go in the event a program does have a “flash opening” is the best way to ensure that you are prepared to apply for the stream of programming that affects your project.
Quotes & Corporate Entity/Name Structure
Growing Forward’s finance department has made the decision that all quotes, applications and risk assessments must bear the identical corporate identity. So if your farm name is “John’s Farming Co Ltd.” and that is how you would like to receive payment, you need to ensure that the quotes and invoices match identically and that the farm name on any risk assessments and supporting paperwork also matches this naming structure. Otherwise, when the time comes to issue payment, you will run into issues and may not receive payment at all.
Given the demand for Growing Forward 2 programs, they quite often open with a set budget and close without warning. This means that you must be prepared! Have your quotes and paperwork ready, and keep in mind that the process will take some coordination over the phone or by email, whichever works best for you. We will ask questions and provide you with additional paperwork as needed to get your application drafted and customized to perfection. After all, we want to see you receive the funding you need!
It’s important to note that even though we are Alberta Pork, we want to assist you with all of your needs, even if this extends to supporting other commodities beyond the hog industry. So please do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you have an application for a project that lies with another commodity because we can help you prepare to apply for funding.
