Alberta Pork is looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and bold Social Media Coordinator to join our team for a summer internship. The ideal candidate is a social media expert who knows current trends and is not afraid to try unique approaches to promote all things pork. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting and sharing engaging content that informs and educates about the pork industry in general and encourages consumers to eat pork in restaurants, purchase pork at the grocery store, and try pork recipes at home.
As the digital voice of Alberta Pork, you’ll be connecting with everyday Albertans, creating excitement for pork products across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
Key Accountabilities
• Content Creation & Storytelling: Develop and curate engaging, high-quality content (photos, videos, and written posts) that authentically and creatively tells the story of Alberta Pork - showcasing food and events while helping to better inform and educate the public about Alberta pork producers and the pork industry. • Social Media Strategy: Work closely with the Communications Manager to develop and implement social media strategies that support Alberta Pork’s overall marketing, partnerships, and community objectives. • Community Engagement: Actively engage with followers on all social media platforms, fostering a positive and vibrant community. Respond to inquiries, encourage interaction, and create moments that drive engagement. • Campaign Execution: Support the planning and execution of social media campaigns, contests, and promotions. • Content Calendar Management: Assist in the creation, maintenance, and execution of the content calendar to ensure a consistent flow of posts and updates across platforms. • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Assist in monitoring social media performance, analyze data, and review reports to measure the success of content. Use insights to refine strategies and optimize engagement. • Trendspotting: Stay ahead of news, content trends, and emerging platforms. Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and enhance Alberta Pork’s social media presence.Skills & Requirements
• Currently enrolled as a student or recent graduate in a relevant field (eg. Marketing, Communications, Agriculture, Culinary Arts). • Strong storytelling skills with the ability to create content that resonates with consumers. • Proficient in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube). • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills. • Creative and innovative thinker with an eye for visually pleasing photos and videos. • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects within defined deadlines. • Experience using Microsoft 365, Hootsuite, and MailChimp is considered an asset.
