Alberta Pork is a self-sustaining, private, not-for-profit organization working on behalf of the province’s 630 registered pork producers. Governed by an eight-member, producer-elected Board of Directors, we promote and represent the interests of producers to government, consumers, media and other sectors interested in the pork industry. In addition, Alberta Pork administers and delivers various programs and services for pork producers at the farm level.
The Quality Assurance and Production Coordinator supports the delivery of services to the best pork producers in the world. You will work under the direction of the Quality Assurance and Production Manager with farm operations in Alberta and help to develop and implement food safety, animal care, biosecurity, farm safety, and production programs. In addition, you will participate in audits to ensure compliance with food safety and quality assurance policies, procedures and process control.
Requirements and Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a strong knowledge of agriculture and the pork industry in Alberta is an asset. This individual must be highly organized, flexible and reliable. Attention to detail as well as the ability work independently and effectively to meet deadlines is required. Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are essential. The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships with industry professionals, producers and staff as well as be comfortable taking corrective actions when required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including CSV, Excel, Office, and Power Point) computer skills are a necessity. Have completed and obtained a degree in Agriculture and/or equivalent experience within the agriculture industry is required.
