PigLEARN Expands Training

Training and workforce development continue to play an important role in the long-term success of Canada’s pork industry, and PigLEARN is growing to meet those needs.

PigLEARN currently offers over 100 online training modules designed specifically for pork production, covering topics ranging from animal care and barn management to biosecurity and worker safety. Additional worker health and safety modules are also on the way later this year.

The platform provides flexible, online learning opportunities that help producers train new staff, strengthen on-farm practices and support continuous improvement across the industry.
Training includes nursery and finisher barn management, pig handling, transportation preparation, veterinary product use, biosecurity, euthanasia and animal-based measures.

PigLEARN Group Sow

PigLEARN now offers 10 specialized modules focused on group sow housing systems, including:

  • Pig behaviour and stockmanship
  • Mixing and aggression
  • Facility design
  • Floor feeding
  • Electronic sow feeder systems
  • Animal training for ESF systems

These modules are designed to help producers plan for and operate modern group sow housing systems more effectively.

COMING SOON! Six new worker health and safety modules including:

  • Hazardous gases
  • Manure pit management
  • Confined space awareness
  • Supervisor health and safety responsibilities
  • Understanding & addressing workplace harassment and violence

These additions reflect the industry’s continued focus on creating safe, knowledgeable and productive workplaces for employees at every level.

Subscriptions provide access to more than 100 training modules for $51.25 Per Person annually.
