In support of the High School Culinary Challenge (HSCC), Hot Chefs Cool Beats—a unique celebration of local food, drink and art—attracted a lot of attention to the Mosaic Centre in south Edmonton on April 25. The HSCC is an annual competition for Edmonton-and-area high school culinary students—the up-and-coming faces of the local food scene.
The event was sponsored by Alberta Pork and was featured in a video story by the Two Cowboys: storytellers with a mission of traveling the world and producing entertaining content to showcase incredible destinations, events, great products and inspiring businesses.
Have a look at what made Hot Chefs Cool Beats special:
“Who better to speak for a product like pork than new chefs and chefs in general?” asks Darcy Fitzgerald, Executive Director, Alberta Pork. “Here are these young people who often need a break, and a scholarship means everything to them. And they have a chance to meet these amazing chefs… [who] have had the experience of having great people mentor them, and now they’re trying to mentor and bring people up as well.”
Alberta Pork is proud to have supported this great event and looks forward to a continued partnership with HSCC. Stay tuned for more content courtesy of the Two Cowboys, leading up to the Porkapalooza BBQ Festival and Alberta Pork’s 50th anniversary celebration.
