Alberta Pork has played an active role in the establishment of the Alberta Environmental Farm Plan (AEFP). company and believes that the program is worthy of producer participation. AEFP is a non-profit company comprised of industry, government, and other stakeholders that provides a voluntary, confidential self-assessment process for agricultural producers to evaluate the environmental risks and strengths of their operations and develop a plan to address those risks and strengths. Trained facilitators deliver the program to producers through two workshops and a workbook for home use. Each workshop takes four to five hours. A review process of a farm plan is also available.
