Alberta Pork is looking for an exceptional individual who can lead Alberta Pork into the next generation of industry development following the retirement of the current Executive Director later this year.
Alberta Pork represents the interests of all pork producers in Alberta and is dedicated to help them achieve sustainable and prosperous agri-food businesses. The successful candidate will report to the elected Board of Directors and is responsible for implementing the vision of the organization through the development of its strategic plan and ensuring that strategic directions are supported by effective operations. This person requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in order to develop and strengthen relationships with producers, industry representatives, government officials, regulatory bodies, researchers, media and the general public while adhering to strict budgetary guidelines.
Strong consideration will be given to candidates with significant experience in strategic planning, financial and operational management, policy development, government liaison, marketing, staff supervision and working with the public and media. Experience in the pork industry and knowledge of agriculture, and production practices would be considered strong assets.
The position is located in Edmonton, Alberta.
